Represents employers in all aspects of employment law, including defense of wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wage and hour claims.

Has significant experience litigating wage and hour class actions in the healthcare, telecommunications, and restaurant industries.

Routinely provides advice and counsel to management on a wide variety of employment topics including disability, medical leave, and accommodation issues. In addition, provides advice and counsel on a number of wage and hour issues including compensation and benefits issues.

Represents clients in state and federal court and before administrative agencies including the California Labor Commissioner, the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

NOTABLE REPRESENTATIONS

Obtaining summary judgment for a major corporation against an employee claiming age discrimination, and wrongful termination following a reduction-in-force;

Obtaining summary judgment for major non-profit entity against an employee claiming retaliation, wrongful termination, and discrimination;

Obtaining summary judgment for one of the largest retail chains in the United States in disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, age discrimination, and wrongful termination case;

Obtaining summary judgment for premier air cargo carrier in wrongful termination, invasion of privacy, and abuse of process cases filed by former airline pilot who was terminated for posting disparaging comments about the employer on a company-related website;

Successfully defeated writ of attachment filed by former Chief Executive Office of major retailer for severance payments and vacation allegedly due under employment contract. Following the denial of the writ of attachment, Mr. Turner litigated the matter until it settled on a confidential basis just prior to trial; and;

Advising hosts of Home and Garden Network’s No. 1 rated program on employment and wage and hour issues.
